Our client requires an experienced Senior DM Planning Officer to join their area team for a contract role.
They are able to offer a range of flexible working arrangements and are very confident they can offer an interesting case load and a great work environment with the potential for this to be a rolling contract.
The diversity of the borough means you will work on a constantly evolving caseload and you will assess all types of planning and associated applications including site visit (generally unaccompanied), consultation, negotiation written report and recommendation to agreed timescales, including responsibility for major development proposals.
You will also deal with planning appeals and represent the Council at Informal Hearings and Public Inquiries, deal planning enquiries from agents, applicants and the public and give pre-application planning advice to prospective developers.
You will also get the opportunity to negotiate agreements under S.106 of the Town and Country Planning Act where appropriate to secure wider benefit from development proposals.
They need Planners with solid UK planning experience within a Local Authority setting. You will need to be customer focused and you will need to be able to manage your caseload to agreed timescales and quality criteria.
The rate offered is £40/hr Umbrella and this role is inside IR35.
