Our client is a local authority based in Central London which is seeking an experienced Senior Building Control Surveyor to join them for a contract role.
You will lead on the processing and scrutiny of Building Regulation applications, carry out inspections of building works and provide general building control advice to the public, stakeholders and colleagues.
As this is a Senior level role, your professional input will focus on the scrutiny/assessment of more complex applications and schemes. This will include the scrutiny of Full Plans applications, Building Notices, and Regularisation Applications for compliance with the Building Regulations, the Building Act and other relevant legislation including examination of structure details and calculations. You will review plans for a diverse range of construction projects, conduct on-site inspections to ensure compliance with building regulations and provide Building Control advice through various channels (phone, email, in person).
You will be required to inspect dangerous structures during regular working hours, and participate in the out-of-hours dangerous structures rota.
Applicants for this post should be Degree educated in construction or equivalent, preferably with a Band C Building Control Surveyor Registration (BSR) qualification. You must also hold corporate membership status with a recognized professional body such as RICS, CABE, or CIOB. You must have experience in building control and be-or recently have been a senior building control surveyor.
The role will initially be offered for 3 months, but it could be extended beyond this The rate offered is £430/day Umbrella and this role is inside IR35.
