Our client is an Essex local authority who are seeking a Senior / Principal Planner for the following:
An initial 3-month agency contract, supporting the wider team with major applications within the Borough. Please note that this opportunity is being offered on a hybrid basis with the requirement of regular site based visits.
Accountabilities
Dealing with complex major applications, the successful candidate will be required to pick up a caseload of applications including the discharge of conditions associated with major developments
Liaising with colleagues, applicants and their agents, Council Members, stakeholders, senior management, and the community
Site visits and meetings, along with attending and presenting at the occasional evening Planning Committee held in Rayleigh, Essex when required
The Experience You Will Bring
Candidates must possess at least 3 years’ experience at senior/principal level within Local Government, dealing with complex major applications
Confident and articulate both verbally and in writing when liaising with colleagues, applicants and their agents, Council Members, stakeholders, senior management and the community
Confident user of Uniform and Microsoft Office suite (Office 365). An aptitude to promptly pick up the Council’s document management system (Workflow 360, formerly Comino)
Able to deliver results for the Council
