Full Description

Our client is an East London local authority who are seeking a Project Manager - Construction Manager with responsibilities as follows:

We are looking to employ an interim project manager for 6 months whose role will include the following:

You will implement a variable fee to assess and monitor Demolition and Construction Management Plans (DCMP) conditioned as a result of planning approvals.
Liaison with the relevant teams which feed into the assessment of such plans, particularly Highways, Environmental Health and Planning, to ensure that requirements are met;
Initiate a process map indicating how DCMPs will be assessed, negotiated and approved / not approved and how the DCMP officers will interact with Highways, Environmental Health, Planning and Developers/Contractors;
Establish where best to place the posts within the existing structure and within what teams;
Draw up job descriptions (JD) for the DCMP officers, agreed the JDs with the relevant teams, HR and Trades Unions;
Oversee the recruitment of suitable candidates into the DCMP officer roles.

Who we are looking for:

Whilst this interim role is, essentially, a project manager it would be desirable for the candidate to have knowledge of the Planning system and of the relevant laws associated with Highways and Environmental Health as statutory consultees on conditions relating to demolition and construction of approved planning applications.
This is predominantly a remote working role however the candidate will be expected to attend regular Teams meetings to liaise with relevant officers and to update on the project. There may be an occasional requirement for site meetings.
Applicants should have a qualification in building surveying, or civil engineering, or building studies
