Our client is a Local Authority based in North London and they require a Principal Planning Policy Officer to join them for a contract that will initially be offered for 6 months.
In this role you will lead on planning policy and research tasks that enable the successful delivery of the Local Plan and associated Area Action Plans and Supplementary Planning Documents. This means that you will lead on research, data analysis and public consultation in relation to planning policy matters, drafting policy documents and take an active role in responding to planning proposals submitted to the council.
You will ensure timely and meaningful engagement of other Council Divisions, elected members, statutory and non-statutory bodies, developers and public stakeholders in this processes. You will also have management of discrete research and policy development / drafting and projects, including management of consultants.
To apply for this role you will need a relevant degree level qualification and, ideally, professional accreditation. Recent experience in a policy planning role writing strategy and policy documents is essential and your knowledge of current planning legislation and guidelines will need to be fully up to date. You will need to be comfortable in a lead role and able to undertake team management duties when necessary.
This contract will initially be offered for 6 months though it could be extended beyond this and the rate offered is £40/hr (inside IR35).
