Our client is a local authority based in the South West London area which is seeking a Class 3 Surveyor to join them on a contract role focused on high risk buildings. You will be required to assist the Head of Building Control in the management of the Building Control Departments administrative processing, plan checking and technical site works in respect to large projects within the borough.
Applicants for this post must be degree educated or HNC in building, building surveying, civil or structural engineering and significant relevant post qualification experience, or able to demonstrate a comparable level of knowledge and skills obtained through relevant experience. You must also hold appropriate professional qualifications (MRICS, MBEng, MICE, MIStructE, CBuildE).
Knowledge and ability to provide expert advice and assistance on all building control applications and enforcement, including knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Building Act 1984, the London Building Acts and Building Regulations is required. Experience of working within a politically driven organisation operating at a senior level with elected or board members would be benificial. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, be able to manage a substantial workload and have excellent political awareness.
The role will initially be offered for 3 months and the rate offered is £375/day Umbrella. This role is inside IR35. Full JD available on application.

Our client offers a hybrid working arrangement for this role with a minimum of 2 days a week in the office plus any site visits that are needed.
