Our client is a local authority based in South London who are seeking a Housing Development Manager to join them for a contract position and take the lead on the delivery of a number of development projects.
The focus of the role is on delivering 93 affordable homes on 4 small council-owned sites, this is the first stage in the Council’s housing delivery programme. London and Quadrant (L&Q) are providing construction services and managing the procurement of the construction contracts.
The council is seeking someone:
• To manage the delivery programme of the 93 homes – all now have planning permission and we are moving into the construction phase.
• To client L&Q and ensure the procurement process is run in the Council’s interest
• To work with council colleagues to progress legal and other matters to ensure the sites are vacant and ready for start on sites from Spring next year.
• To manage the budget for the delivery of the 93 homes providing regular updates.
• To manage advisors to the council including the Council’s appointed Employers Agent
• To prepare briefing and update report to a senior Officer Steering Group and Members Steering Group who oversee this programme.
• Prepare any reports to Cabinet and other decision-making bodies as required
To apply you will need to hold a relevant planning related qualification and a recent proven track record in delivering major Development projects for a UK Local Authority. You will need experience of working within a politically driven organisation operating at a senior level with elected or board members and you will a strong knowledge and knowledge of legislation pertaining to businesses, and especially of regeneration.
The role will initially be offered for 3 - 6 months and the rate offered is £500/day Umbrella. This role is inside IR35 and our client offers hybrid working.
