Full Description

Our client is based in West London and are 2 authorities combining their Building Control & Surveying services so this is a fantastic opportunity to secure a high profile role and take your career to the next stage.

They are seeking a Head of Building Control and are offering a market leading rate of at least £750-£800/day but there may be scope to negotiate further for an exceptional candidate. We expect the contract to be at least 6 months.

There is a hybrid working arrangement role with the expectation to meet the Building Control Team as needed and be available to attend site inspections.

As the Head of Building Control you will work alongside a number of senior officers representing the Strategic Planning and Infrastructure function. Ambitious, enthusiastic and forward thinking, you will use your extensive Building Control knowledge and technical ability to deliver statutory Building Control functions and contribute to customer focused, results driven service delivery.

You will lead, motivate and inspire the Building Control team and contribute towards the exciting range of projects across the borough.

To apply you should be a Class 4 Registered Building Inspector but Class 3 applicants with extensive experience will be considered.

To be successful in the role of Head of Building Control, you will be able to demonstrate the following key points:

- Able to lead, inspire and motivate a team of Building Control professionals including those commencing their career within the industry.

- Ability to prepare, manage and develop the Building Control service to meet the demands of the Building Safety Regulator and Building Safety Act 2022.

- Educated to degree level in Building Control, Building Surveying, Construction, Structural Engineering and/or be able to demonstrate learning at an equivalent level.

- Member of a relevant professional body such as RICS, CABE, CIOB or equivalent.

- Substantial experience in Building Control and possessing the ability to effectively manage a range of projects from domestic and dwelling houses up to 5 storeys through to complex commercial, mixed use and high rise schemes.
