Our client is a Local Authority based in the Greater Manchester area, and they are seeking an experienced Development Manager to join them for a contract role and lead a team of development management officers including planning enforcement and conservation. You will be need to attend Planning Committee each month or as required.
Applicants for this post must be qualified Town Planners with experience of local authority town planning. Your strong technical knowledge of UK planning legislation will need to be complimented with good management skills and the confidence and ability to direct a team. You must have experience of management in local government and up to date knowledge of case law and procedures in Development Management. Critical to this role will be the ability to communicate effectively and to engage in negotiations that can often be sensitive and complex so you will need to be able to engage productively with third parties to develop good relationships that ensure successful development.
This will initially run until the end of May 2025. Our client offers hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days in the office.
The rate offered will depend on your experience, this role is inside IR35. A full JD is available.
