Full Description

As Assistant Network Planning Officer you will support the Principal Network Planning Officers, Team Leader and Head of Service to ensure that all notices, licence and permit applications received satisfy legislative specifications and that Council objectives are achieved.

The primary purpose of your role is to ensure the accurate drafting of temporary traffic management orders together with the associated notices. As part of this role you will maintain the NRSW Act Permit Register and as and when required the Local Street Gazetteer.

To fulfil this role you will need to be familiar with New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all associated codes of practice including the London Permit Scheme as you will be required to issue Fixed Penalty notices for permit / notice offences. Other duties will include assessing applications for Street works Licences and ensuring they are completed accurately and producing reports and attending dispute resolution meetings.

We are looking for an established Network Planning Officer who has undertaken a similar role within a Local Authority. You will need a comprehensive knowledge of the above mentioned NRSWA 1991 and TA Act 2004. You will need a good understanding of traffic management requirements and arrangements for highway events and activities.

Our client is a Local Authority based in North West London. The initial contract will be 3 months but is fully expected to extend. The rate is £38.62/hr (umbrella).
